With
the wait almost over, audiences can now enjoy the film based on the life of the
internet Gurus, who took upon themselves to fight the restrictions in
connection to viewing and sharing the digital content, primarily over the
internet. Thanks to the Swedish documentary and filmmaker, Simon Klose, who has
offered the audiences to enjoy the thrilling documentary based on the net
activists, who offered the so-called pirated but free digital content to the
internet users. Klose says that it took him four years to come up with such a
documentary.
It
was four years ago, when Peter Sunde, Fredrik Neij, Carl Lundstrom and
Gottfield Svartholm were fined and sentenced to a one-year imprisonment. These
four are no other than the Pirate Bay Founders. Klose has unfolded the story of
these boys being able to dominate the world of file sharing. Klose told media
that he was overwhelmed to hear about the film going to be premiered by the
Berlin International Film Festival. Klose further added that he always intended
for the film to be released under the Creative Commons License, enabling the
users to watch and download the film without spending any bucks.
Klose
told media that he always intended for the film to be free for the internet
users. It can spread the word to a large audience, which is my ultimate goal,
added Klose. Furthermore, he was confident about the film being viewed by
millions of online users all over the globe. Klose told the media that he
shares more or less the same views as that of the Pirate Bay Founders. Everyone
must have access to the digital content, and restricting the access to the
digital content should not be the way to go. He further added that the absence
of the copyright laws would pave the way for creativity in terms of the digital content. Klose also
regarded the speculations of him promoting the infringed sites as baseless.
Born in southern Sweden, Lund, Klose completed his studies from Stockholm.
Klose is in the business of filmmaking for more than a decade now, has made
several documentaries along with the catchy music videos.
Klose is
of the view that the originators of a new technology (the founders of the
Pirate Bay) should not have been treated like criminals. It was in 2008 when
Klose first met with these boys, and decided to make a documentary. The movies
should be theme-based rather than being objective, further added by Klose, The
shooting of the film was an entirely exhilarating experience, I’ve never
encountered.
The high
point was the time when I was granted access to the location from where the
Pirate Bay founders operated. Klose told media that he thought the Pirate Bay
would have huge server halls, but the real-picture was quite surprising. The
Pirate Bay founders used to operate their servers from a hidden cave, which was
astonishing, Klose added. When asked about the distribution of the film, Klose
told media that he had no intentions of distributing and releasing the film
through a film studio. I want this film to be free for the viewers to enjoy,
added Klose.
