Skylanders
Lightcore Hex is one of the few Skylanders Giants figures yet to be released.
In the Giants game there are sixteen figures that have this amazing Lightcore
feature. There are eight regular Skylanders, of which Lightcore Hex is one, and
all eight of the actual Giant figure too. The Lightcore feature is awesome
because it causes the figure to glow when placed on or near the Portal of
Power. This technology is powered by the portal itself, and requires no
batteries, which makes it better still!
Skylanders
Hex is a popular character in the Skylanders video games. She first made her
appearance in the original game called Spyro's Adventure. Hex belongs to the
Undead group of Skylanders, who use the power of the Undead to defeat enemies.
As the story goes, Hex is a powerful sorceress, who journeyed to the Underworld
to fight the Dragon King. Although she defeated the dragon, her visit to the
Underworld changed Hex permanently, and hence her gothic appearance.
The Hex
figure from the first Skylanders game is known as a Series 1 Hex. This figure
stands on a base decorated by a skull, identifying her as an Undead Skylander.
The bottom of the base is covered in green plastic, which shows she is a Series
1 figure. Hex wears black robes and has a ghosty blue complexion and huge white
eyes. She holds a clear skull.
The
Skylanders sequel, known as Skylanders Giants, brought Hex back in two
versions. There is a regular Skylanders Hex figure and a Lightcore Hex figure.
The regular Hex is known as a series 2 Hex. This figure has a slightly different
pose from the original one, and the bottom of the base is orange plastic.
Series 2 hex is holding a large clear blue globe high in the air, and is
surrounded by a clear blue swirl. Her robes and face look very similar to the
Series 1 figure. In addition, the Series 2 version has a special "Wow Pow'
upgrade power. Both Series 1 and Series 2 Hex will play in Spyro's Adventure
and Giants.
Lightcore
Hex has a different pose again. She is holding a smaller white globe in one
hand and pointing with the other hand. Beneath her black robe you can see a red
dress. I am guessing that when you put Lightcore Hex on the Portal of Power her
eyes will glow white and her dress will glow red. I can't wait to see her!
